Publishing Thursday!

On Thursdays we get to choose our favourite stories and publish them. We can choose to either publish with our ipads or in our publishing books. The stories today are by Jaxon, Catherine, Kaylee and Mischa

Making Connections in Reading

 Today Ilahah read the story 'Sally and the Sparrows' .

Ilahah noticed that we had lots of sparrows outside. 

Here is Ilahah feeding the sparrows bread just like Sally did in the story.

This card will come home on a Monday in your child's book bag if your child has been selected to be the news reporter for the following Friday!!

Narrative Writing!

We have been learning to write Narratives. We used the book 'Chicken Thief' by Beatrice Rodriguez which had no words and we had to write the story for it. We do our draftcopy first, then we edit our work and after we publish our stories. We tried to include an Onomatopoeia!

I helped to make a paper plane for paper plane day. When it was paper plane day my paper plane didn't go the furtherest because Leo made a good paper plane for someone. It was fun.

We are publishing our favourite story from this week! We are using our timer to know how long we have left to publish!!

We are enjoying publishing our writing. We are Authors!!

Smarty Pants!

Our big book this week was Smarty Pants by Joy Cowley. We did mixed media art for our smarty pants. We had to include collage and paint. We wrote our own verse of the story. This included rhyme!

Our Certificate Heros this week from Te Pihinga and Te Kakono and our spelling superstars who have moved up another list. Well done Te pihinga!

Learn Create Share!

Technology for the next two weeks is all about flight. Today we looked at all the things we know already and are starting to think about how we are going to make and create ours. We can't wait to share our ideas with you next week.
